1. About these terms
These Terms and Conditions apply to the website operated for the RiskContour financial-risk assessment service and to enquiries submitted to SGB Finance. SGB Finance is located at Ruby House, 8 Ruby Place, Aberdeen. Our VAT number is GB 525980075, our registration date is 2026-08-23, and the Director is Louis Nelson.
By using the website or submitting an enquiry, you agree to use the service lawfully and to provide information that is accurate to the best of your knowledge. These terms do not create any guarantee that a particular financial outcome will be achieved.
2. Nature and scope of the assessment
The service is intended to help adults consider their current financial position, including income, regular expenditure, savings or reserves, assets and significant commitments, and readiness for unexpected financial pressures. The assessment may identify areas that appear to require closer attention and may help organise questions for future decision-making.
The service does not promise protection against loss, a particular return, improved creditworthiness or any other guaranteed outcome. It is not a substitute for regulated financial or investment advice, tax advice or legal advice. Where a matter requires regulated or specialist advice, you should consider consulting an appropriately qualified professional.
3. Enquiries and the free initial assessment
The initial assessment request is presented as free of charge. Submitting the form does not require you to purchase a financial product and does not by itself create a paid service contract. We may contact you using the details you provide to clarify the scope of your request or arrange the initial discussion.
We may decline or limit an assessment where the request falls outside the scope of the service, where information is insufficient to conduct a meaningful review, or where continuing would conflict with law or professional boundaries. We will not ask you to submit bank passwords, card security codes or account authentication credentials through the website.
4. Information supplied by you
The usefulness of any assessment depends on the completeness and accuracy of the information available. You are responsible for checking figures and facts before relying on them in subsequent decisions. Circumstances can change after an assessment, including income, expenses, interest rates, asset values and personal commitments.
You should tell us if information that is material to the assessment changes during an ongoing discussion. We are not responsible for conclusions affected by information that was inaccurate, incomplete or materially out of date when supplied.
5. Acceptable use
You must not misuse the website, attempt to interfere with its security, use it to submit unlawful material or impersonate another person. You must not use automated methods to overwhelm, scrape or disrupt the service where that activity would damage availability, security or the rights of others.
Content on the website is provided for the RiskContour service and may not be copied, republished or commercially exploited in a way that infringes intellectual-property rights. Ordinary personal use of the website and printing information for your own records is permitted.
6. Availability and changes
We may update the website, the assessment process or these terms where reasonably necessary to reflect legal, operational or service changes. We may also suspend access temporarily for maintenance, security or other operational reasons. We aim to keep information clear and current, but cannot promise uninterrupted availability.
7. Responsibility and liability
Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. Subject to that, SGB Finance is not responsible for losses arising solely from treating a general risk assessment as a guarantee, regulated recommendation or prediction of future events. Financial outcomes can be affected by market conditions, employment changes, illness, emergencies, household decisions and many other factors beyond the scope of an assessment.
You remain responsible for decisions made after the assessment and for obtaining regulated or specialist advice where appropriate. The purpose of the service is to improve visibility of potential financial pressure points, not to transfer decision-making responsibility.
8. Events outside reasonable control
We are not responsible for delay or failure caused by events outside reasonable control where we have taken reasonable steps in the circumstances. This may include significant telecommunications disruption, widespread systems outages, natural events or legal restrictions that prevent normal operation.
9. Governing law and jurisdiction
These terms are governed by the laws applicable in Scotland, subject to any mandatory consumer protections that apply to you. Disputes should first be raised with us using the contact details below so that the issue can be considered directly.
